The hydrographic dipping process, also called aqua dipping, camo-dipping or water transfer printing is a service provided by companies specializing in this state of the art printing process. How this works is a polyvinyl film with a design of choice is floated on a vat of water. An activator is added to separate the design from the film. The item is then prepped and spray painted with a base coat. The item to be designed is dipped into the vat of water. The design then wraps itself around the item. It is removed from the vat and dried. A protective coat is then spray painted on to keep the design intact and to protect it from chipping.

This is done by professionals. But what if you can do the hydrographic dipping process on your own? What will you need to be able to do this yourself? It is best to take lessons from seasoned veterans but there are several instructional videos on how to do it on YouTube that you can just watch and apply. One must be ready with the equipment and materials needed. These materials are available from hydrographic dipping suppliers so is the training and know how to make this hobby a possible profitable business in the future. As with anything, practice makes perfect so it is best to try and do as much hydrographic dipping as you possibly can so as to get a hang of it.  The design films, activator, base coat, protective coating and protective gear can all be purchased at the hydrographic dipping suppliers.
